Cake Dos and Don'ts
Cakes are beautiful, but they can go wrong. Here are several "don'ts" to keep in mind.
Don't Put your cake in front of a bathroom or distracting wall ornament.
Do Give your cake center stage in a highly visible area.
Don't Use just any knife, simply because it's festooned with ribbon and is designated as an official wedding cake cutter.
Do Ask your baker which knife is suited to the cake's composition and texture.
Don't Place just any flowers on your cake.
Do Talk with your florist about safe, edible blooms perfect for decorating a memorable cake.
Don't Forget that it's your cake's day, too. Avoid photos of your cake from too far away - you won't remember how special it was.
Do Ask your photographer to shoot close-ups. Before you cut the cake, consult with your photographer to make sure the shot was captured.
