Other printed materials
Your local stationer can help you with more than just invitations. Here is a list of other printed materials you may need for your big day. Keep in mind that ordering all materials at once might score you a better price with a vendor than ordering each piece separately.
Save the dates
These cards can be as simple as a postcard with the city of your venue and the date of the wedding. This is especially helpful to guests who will need to arrange for travel and accommodations. If many guests will need to travel, consider including a list of nearby hotels. These should be sent at least six to nine months before the wedding.
Programs
This schedule of your ceremony helps guide guests through the event and can include extras, such as tributes to loved ones who cannot be part of the special day, explanations of particularly meaningful aspects of the ceremony, and information on members of your wedding party and why they are special to you. Programs can be as simple as a sheet of cardstock or a booklet, or as unique as a small fan or scroll.
Menu cards
Menu cards are placed at tables and clue guests in to the tasty delights they'll soon be served. You can place a few cards per table, or even a card per place setting.
Place cards and table cards
There is a difference. Table cards are placed in a central spot outside the dining area and help direct guests to their proper table. Place cards are used at each individual setting to guide guests to specific seats.
Thank-you cards
Having these printed and ready when you receive your invitations ensures that you will be set when you begin receiving wedding gifts. Often these reflect the wedding theme by utilizing similar colors, and even your monogram, if you have one.
